For a 40-Year Legacy Dedicated to Quality Manufacturing
The Industrial Revolution changed the world at large forever. From the 1760s to the 1840, the world transitioned from simple hand production methods to advanced machinery that would be the trailblazers of modern technology.
Derbyshire, England is considered the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and it only makes sense that this same place would be the home of Autobond, a family-owned engineering firm providing cutting-edge technology to the commercial print industry.
Autobond’s legacy is our dedication to quality, reliability, and productivity that has not only given us international success but has brought us ample recognition. Recently, Autobond and our managing director, John Gilmore, were featured in PrintWeek, the UK source for print-related news and noteworthy subject matter. We are honored to be recognized by other industry professionals.

Our Family’s Legacy Recognized
Today, there are many people at Autobond that make us the number one provider of commercial lamination machines as well as ink jet spot UV, and foiling machinery.
Our family is still prominently involved in the operation is a feat. For 40 years, the Gilmore family has invested their time, energy, and ingenuity into Autobond: John Gilmore, the son of our founder, the late George Gilmore, is at the helm of our international enterprise. To be featured in PrintWeek is an honor that does our present employees and our late founder proud.
An Ode To Our Investment In Quality
In their article PrintWeek was quick to highlight our vision and values: one of the most important aspects of our business has always been build quality of our machinery. Creating quality laminating machines, ink jet spot UV, and foiling machines begins with our employee’s dedication to quality manufacturing as well as the quality of the parts we use to build our machines. For this, we must thank our German suppliers who hold steadily to the German tradition of precision manufacturing and expert craftsmanship.
An Article That Speaks to Reliability
We are also excited about how the PrintWeek article illustrates our dedication to creating reliable machines; every machine is built to last 25+ years. For this reason and others, our machines are highly sought after by commercial printers all over the world.
Since our inception, we have demonstrated a fierce dedication to manufacturing high productivity machinery.
As an exporter, the decision could be monumental for the family-owned business. Gilmore states “As an exporter, it will be invaluable to us when we finally exit the EU,” he says. “We may see an increase in the cost of certain component parts, but the UK has been a nation of innovators and exporters for over three hundred years, so we are not unduly worried.”
We are excited about the recognition we received in our PrintWeek article “Stick With It All the Way To the Finish” and how clearly and accurately they portrayed our history, our passion, and our future. PrintWeek is a recognized industry publication dedicated to sharing the most noteworthy contributors to the commercial printing world.
